J.P. Associates is pleased to announce the 3rd Edition of its Annual Article Writing Competition 2026, inviting law students across India to participate and demonstrate their legal research, analytical ability, and writing proficiency. Building upon the success of its previous editions, this year’s competition expands its scope to include submissions in the fields of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Indirect Taxation, thereby offering a broader platform for academic engagement.
This initiative aims to encourage scholarly discourse among law students while providing them with an opportunity to gain recognition, publication, and professional exposure.
About the Competition
The J.P. Associates Article Writing Competition is designed to foster legal research and writing skills among aspiring legal professionals. Participants are encouraged to critically analyse contemporary legal issues, present well-reasoned arguments, and contribute meaningfully to ongoing legal discussions.
The competition also serves as a platform for students to engage with practical aspects of law, particularly in the domains of intellectual property and taxation.
Eligibility
The competition is open to:
- Students enrolled in a 3-Year LL.B. programme
- Students enrolled in a 5-Year integrated LL.B. programme
- LL.M. candidates
All participants are required to follow J.P. Associates on LinkedIn as part of the participation criteria.
Topics
Participants may submit articles on any topic related to:
- Intellectual Property Rights
- Indirect Taxation
The flexibility in topic selection allows participants to explore various doctrinal and contemporary issues within these areas.
Submission Guidelines
Participants must adhere strictly to the following guidelines:
- The article must be original and unpublished
- Format: Microsoft Word or Google Docs
- Word Limit: 1,200 to 1,500 words
- Font: Times New Roman, Size 12
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Citation Style: Bluebook
In addition, the submission must include:
- A plagiarism report (maximum permissible limit: 10%)
- An AI report
- Participant details, including Name, Email Address, Contact Number, and College Name
All submissions must be sent via email to office@jpassociates.co.in.
Important Date
The last date for submission is 15th April 2026. Participants are advised to adhere strictly to the deadline, as no extensions will be granted.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on the following parameters:
- Creativity and Originality – 30 marks
- Content and Relevance – 30 marks
- Clarity and Writing Style – 20 marks
- Technical Understanding – 20 marks
The decision of the judging panel shall be final and binding.
Prizes and Opportunities
The competition offers the following rewards:
First Position:
Cash Prize of Rs. 1,500 along with publication on the J.P. Associates website and an internship opportunity.
Second Position:
Cash Prize of Rs. 1,000 along with publication and an internship opportunity.
Third Position:
Cash Prize of Rs. 500 along with publication.
Honourable mentions may also receive publications.
All participants will also receive certificates of participation.
